April 13, Romania, Azerbaijan and Georgia signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in gas sector.
AGIP project implementation (Azerbaijan-Georgia-Romania Interconnector) will allow Caspian gas supply to Europe from Azerbaijan to Romania via Georgia.
According to Romanian Economy Minister Adriean Videanu, AGIP will be fulfilled sooner than Nabucco.
Memorandum of understanding was signed by Economy Minister Adriean Videanu, Georgian Energy Minister Alexandre Khetaguri as well as Azerbaijani Industry and Energy Minister Natig Aliyev.
Romania will purchase 2 bn m³ of gas out of 7 bn m³ annually circulated through AGIP.
Natig Aliyev underlined importance of the project for all Black Sea countries, APA reports.
